DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The West Georgia Wolves got a career low from a freshman on Monday afternoon as the Wolves shot a first round 307 and sit in fifth place at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Georgia.


Maddy Schultz led the Wolves, shooting the best round of her brief career at UWG. The freshman made four birdies and five bogeys to finish one-over par after 18 holes. She’ll begin tomorrow’s final round in a fourth-place tie.


Sophomore Ari Samuel shot a 76 on Monday, making one birdie on the day. Samuel is in a 17th place tie after one round.


Two Wolves shot 79 in the opening round as Michelle Bagsic and Katherine Densmore are tied for 30th with 18 holes to play on Tuesday. Densmore made the second most birdies on the team on Monday, making three, but was plagued with three consecutive double bogeys on the back nine.


Layne Marie Carter shot 82 on Monday and is in a 52nd place tie heading into the final round.


Lee is atop the team leaderboard after their first round 294 and lead host North Georgia by a pair of strokes.


The final round is set for tomorrow from Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega.
