CLINTON, Miss. – The UWG track and field team concluded their season today at the Gulf South Conference Championships with a fourth place finish with 103.5 points.
West Georgia finished behind Shorter, Alabama Huntsville, and GSC Champions Lee, who finished the event with 180.5 points as they repeated as conference champions.
The highlight of the day was West Georgia’s second place finish in the 4x100m relay as UWG finished in 47.86, for eight points. In the 4x400m relay, West Georgia finished fifth with a time of 3:59.87. Aditionally, in the 100m dash, Dawn McMcCaskill broke her own school record, finishing in 12.00 for a fourth place finish.
McCaskill then went on to finish fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 24.98.
Emani Collins grabbed three points with a sixth place finish in the 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 58.55. In the 100m dash, Dawn McMcCaskill broke her own school record, finishing in 12.00 for a fourth place finish.
The trio of Nadia Davila, Andrea Foster, and Kennedy Davis finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 100m hurdles. Davila was fourth with a time of 14.901 while Foster crossed in a photo finish at 14.910. Davis finished sixth with her time of 15.15.
In the 400m version of the hurdles, Davis finished fifth with a time of 1:07.51. Foster was seventh in 1:08.32.
In the field events, Trisan Haughton placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.43m. Faith Moss finished sixth in pole vault.
