ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wolves have set the pace heading into their final weeks before Conference after huge achievements at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Amina Saunders made her way onto the Provisional List for NCAA DII Nationals over the weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Saunders ran a 1:01.31 in the 400m hurdles for a second-place finish. She ran 14.59 in the 100m hurdles which was good enough for 13th overall.

Also in the 100m hurdles, Nadia Davila finished in 15.03 for 15th. Brandi Boddy represented the Wolves in the shot put, claiming 10th with a throw of 12.32m. Ashley Davis finished 11th in the 200m dash in 24.93. The West Georgia 4x100 team (Makalah Cannon, Rickia Stafford, Dawn McCaskill, and Rolayo Roberts) took 10th in 48.27.

The provisional mark does not guarantee a spot in the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. The NCAA will determine how many athletes are invited, then match that with the number of athletes who reached the regular qualifying mark in a particular discipline. If more is needed to compete, those who have hit the provisional mark are next in line, but without hitting that mark, the season is complete.

The Wolves have a week off before they head to Rome, GA for the 2019 Gulf South Conference Championships May 2nd – 4th.
