CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia track and field team has completed their indoor competitions to preface the official start to the outdoor season. The Wolves will kick the season off in Columbus, Georgia at the 6th Annual Cougar Invite on Saturday. This meet is the Wolves' traditional start to the season to get back into the groove of outdoor competition.

This will be the second season under head coach, Ryan Bailey and the fourth season in the Gulf South Conference. After graduating 12 seniors last season, Bailey brought on 20 freshmen for the 2019 season.

With the beginning of the outdoor season for the Wolves, they hit the track running to prepare for the conference championship in May. Not only is the team looking for a GSC Championship title but also to qualify for the Division II Outdoor National Championship.

The 6th Annual Cougar Invite will begin the road to the Conference Championship where the athletes can get marks and times in the books. As the first outdoor meet of the season, the Wolves will not be competing against any conference teams but will have familiar competition from years past.
