CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Wolves take to Emory for the second weekend in a row. This Friday and Saturday the UWG track and field team are competing at the Emory Classic.

 

On Friday the Wolves will begin with the 400m hurdles, javelin, and high jump. The rest of the events will follow on Saturday.

 

The Wolves enter this weekend in full stride for the Conference Championships three meets away. They began the season strong with two wins and third at Emory last week. There were many top eight finishers for the Wolves against big competition.

 

Amina Saunders was back at it again in the 400m hurdles and 100m hurdles, taking points in all of her races. Saunders will be back with more competitive teams this weekend.

 

With Merica Valdez, Aalayla Farr and Nadia Davila in the jumps, the Wolves are sure to find their spot at the top. Valdez has consistently claimed top honors at each meet in the Pole Vault but also claimed points in the high jump at 1.55m alongside Davila at 1.60m.

 

Makalah Cannon represented the Wolves in the finals of the 100m dash last week finishing 8th with a time of 12.45.

 

Another wide spectrum of teams in Atlanta as the Wolves compete at the Emory Classic. The Wolves will see some familiar Gulf South Conference competition also.
