Carrollton, GA – UWG football standout Harley Vaughan has added a major postseason honor to his already impressive list of accomplishments. Vaughan was named Wednesday as a second team member of the Division II Conference Commissioners’ Association (D2CCA) All-America Football Team.
Vaughan’s honor is a historic accomplishment for a West Georgia player. He is the first ever UWG student-athlete to be a three-time All-America selection at the Division II level. Vaughan was named honorable mention on the Don Hansen All-America Team following both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
The All-America honor is the latest of many 2017 postseason honors for one of UWG’s team captains. Vaughan was last month named a first team member of both the All-Gulf South Conference and D2CCA All-Super Region 2 Teams.
Also, Vaughan ended his career in the UWG record book. He made a school best 53 consecutive starts on the Wolves’ offensive line: 15 as a tackle in 2014, and 38 straight games at center from 2015 through 2017.
Vaughan is native of Dawsonville and prepped at Dawson County High School. He graduated in the spring of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management, and played this past season while attending graduate school at UWG.
