Carrollton, GA – The UWG Wolves’ 10th season of football in University Stadium is coming 2018. An attractive slate of six home games highlights the schedule announced Monday by the University of West Georgia. All home games on Ra-Lin Field will kickoff at 2 p.m.

A pair of home games kickoff the 2018 slate for second year coach David Dean and the Wolves. UWG faces perennial South Atlantic Conference power Catawba (N.C.) in the September 1 season opener. That is followed a week later by a visit from another SAC opponent as Limestone (S.C.) makes its first ever trip to Carrollton.

The Wolves next pay a visit to Albany State, and then return home on September 22 to begin Gulf South Conference play against the Panthers of Florida Tech. This date will also be the annual UWG Hall of Fame Game. Halftime ceremonies that day will enshrine the Class of 2018 into the University of West Georgia Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Wolves close September play with a visit on the 29th to Rome to face Shorter. That will be followed a week later by another first as GSC newcomer North Greenville comes to Carrollton in the first football meeting ever between the Wolves and Crusaders.

October 13 will find the Wolves in Pensacola for a key, GSC contest against West Florida. The Argonauts were runners-up in last year’s NCAA Division II Playoffs, a march that included a second round playoff win over UWG on Ra-Lin Field.

A second straight NCAA Playoff team comes to Carrollton a week later. UWG celebrates Homecoming on October 20 as the West Alabama Tigers visit Ra-Lin Field. Beyond the Homecoming activities, the UWG Lettermen’s Club will also have its annual event in conjunction with the game.

The stretch run of the 2018 schedule features back-to-back contests against UWG’s Mississippi rivals. The Wolves visit Clinton on October 27, to face Mississippi College, and a week later Delta State visits Carrollton for Senior/Parents Day.

The 2018 regular season comes to a close with the long awaited return of a tradition. For the first time since the 2007 season rivals West Georgia and Valdosta State will face one another in the regular season finale for both teams. The Blazers welcome the Wolves to Bazemore-Hyder Stadium on November 10.
