CARROLLTON, Ga. - University of West Georgia head football coach David Dean announced his 2018 spring practice schedule on Monday, with the Wolves set to begin practice on Saturday, February 24 at 9:15 a.m.
Dean and his staff will hold 13 different practice dates over the course of 19 calendar days, then finish off the spring practice schedule on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. with the annual spring game. The Wolves will open practice in helmets only for Saturday and then again on Monday, February 26, with the first practice in full pads scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27.
West Georgia will have two full scrimmages on Ra-Lin Field in University Stadium during the 19 days in addition to the spring game on March 15. The first scrimmage will be on Saturday, March 3, in conjunction with Alumni Weekend on campus. For that scrimmage, UWG Alumni will be hosting a tailgate from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. For more details regarding the tailgate, contact Denice King at email@example.com. The second scrimmage of the spring will be on Saturday, March 10, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Wolves went 9-4 in the first season under Dean in 2017, reaching the second round of the NCAA Playoffs for the third time in the past four seasons. The 2018 season is set to begin on September 1 at 2 p.m., as the Wolves host Catawba. There will be six home dates in the 2018 regular season, and season tickets will go on sale on March 1.
