CARROLLTON, Ga. - Junior quarterback Willie Candler was named the Southern States Bank Player of the Game for his performance against Limestone on Saturday, as he fueled a 500-yard performance from the West Georgia offense in a 42-14 victory over the Limestone Saints at University Stadium. 

Candler, starting at quarterback for the 19th time in his collegiate career, was 21-for-28 through the air, connecting with 11 different receivers en route to the first 300-yard performance of his career. In addition, Candler accounted for four of the Wolves' six scores on the day, throwing three touchdown passes and running one in from 11 yards out. 

Of his 21 passes, 13 were completed to a trio of receivers in Emoni Williams, Thomas Lester, and John Hurst. Williams had the biggest day in terms of yardage, hauling in five passes from Candler for 89 yards. Lester and Hurst each had four receptions on the day, with Lester picking up 61 yards and two of Candler's three touchdown passes. 

The 13th-ranked Wolves will take to the road for the first time in 2018 in next week's battle, heading south to Albany, Ga. to take on the Albany State Golden Rams. Candler had one of his best career games against Albany State last year, connecting on 21-of-29 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns.
