CARROLLTON, Ga. - In a season that has been full of records for the West Georgia Wolves, LaPerion Perry continued that trend on Saturday against Delta State, setting a University Stadium single-game record with six receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns, earning Southern States Bank Player of the Game honors.

Perry scored the first touchdown of the game for the Wolves in the first half on a 63-yard reception from junior Willie Candler, then later in the game scored what ended up being the game-winning touchdown on an 89-yard touchdown catch.

The 183 yards was a single-game record for West Georgia football in University Stadium, and it was the 10th time that a UWG receiver has had 100 yards receiving in the 10-year history of the facility. The touchdown is tied for the 14th-longest touchdown play in school history and is the third-longest pass play.

Perry is the first freshman to win the Southern States Bank Player of the Game this season. The undefeated Wolves will close out the regular season on Saturday at Valdosta State in a battle of unbeaten teams in 2018. On the line is the Gulf South Conference championship, an undefeated season, the Peach Basket, first place in the Super Region 2 standings, and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Kickoff from Cleveland Field is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
