CARROLLTON, Ga. – A big weekend is ahead for West Georgia soccer as the Wolves are set to host 17th-ranked Mississippi College on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and then will welcome Delta State to University Field for Senior Day on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Wolves are coming off of a 6-0 thumping of Georgia Southwestern in non-conference action on Wednesday night, and now look forward to big challenge in the Choctaws on Friday night.

“We know it’s going to be a different intensity and a different tempo on Friday,” said head coach Stacey Balaam. “And we know we’ve got to be on top form and fully focused for this game,” added Balaam.

The Choctaws come in with an 8-1-1 overall record and a 7-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play and are in the midst of a four game winning streak.

Sunday’s opponent Delta State is 3-8 on the year and 2-1 in GSC play, and most recently defeated Hendrix College in non-conference action. DSU travels to North Alabama on Friday night.

For West Georgia, they will look to build on the 6-0 win in which five different players scored goals. Junior Alexis Lewis netted a pair of goals, recording her second career brace in the win.

Kickoff for Friday night is set for 5 p.m. while Sunday’s game against Delta State is set for 1 p.m. with Senior Day activities to take place at the conclusion of the game.
