CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia Wolves soccer team now knows where their next step will be as with Lee’s 7-1 win over Shorter on Thursday night, the Wolves will now travel to Cleveland, Tenn. to take on top-seed Lee on Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. to open the Gulf South Conference tournament.


West Georgia finished the season 8-8 overall with a 7-7 record in Gulf South Conference play, earning the eighth seed in the conference tournament. Lee finished 13-4 on the year with a 12-2 GSC record.


The two squads met in Carrollton back on September 29, with Lee taking a 1-0 victory over West Georgia on a third minute goal by two-time All-Gulf South Conference performer Summer Lanter.


Lee wrapped up the season with a 7-1 win over Shorter, giving them six straight victories to close out the regular season. UWG fell 2-1 in a tough, hard-fought game against 24th-ranked North Alabama on Thursday afternoon to finish their regular season campaign, the first under head coach Stacey Balaam.


The Wolves and Flames will kickoff the first round of the GSC Tournament on Halloween night at 7 p.m. from the Lee Soccer Field in Cleveland, Tenn.
