CARROLLTON, Ga. – We’re now coming down the final stretch for UWG soccer and just three weekends and six regular season games remain for the Wolves. A road trip to Mississippi awaits the Wolves this weekend as UWG takes on Mississippi College at 2 p.m. on Friday and Delta State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Wolves have lost back-to-back games for the first time all season and look to get back in the win column on Friday as they play their fourth ranked-team of the season in no. 20 Mississippi College on Friday.
In what is the first conference road trip in three weeks, Stacey Balaam is looking for positive results after a tough two-game span.
“We know we have to focus for this trip on the road. I think getting back on the road will do us good. It’s all about business when we’re there and we know we’ve got to take care of business in our two games this weekend,” said Balaam.
The Choctaws, who enter the weekend ranked 20th in all of Division II, are 9-1 overall and unbeaten in league play and present a major challenge for West Georgia on Friday afternoon.
“It’s going to be tough on Friday obviously against Mississippi College that has yet to lose in conference, but we challenged them last year, went neck-and-neck with them, and lost in overtime,” added Balaam.
Then on Sunday, the Wolves travel to Cleveland, Mississippi to take on Delta State who sits at 6-5-1 overall with a 3-4 mark in league play.
The Wolves and Choctaws begin the weekend with a 2 p.m. EST kickoff from Clinton, Mississippi on Friday afternoon. Links to follow the Wolves’ action this weekend can be found below.
