CARROLLTON, Ga. – Two first half goals and a clean sheet were enough to propel the UWG soccer team to a Friday night win over Union as the Wolves prevailed 3-0 in a big Gulf South Conference match.


How It Happened

- It took over 30 minutes, but the Wolves were the first to strike as Madison Cobb scored the game’s first goal in the 36th minute on the first of two assists by freshman Cassidi Thomas.

- The second goal came just before the halftime break, this one coming from Karley Baker and the assist again from Thomas

- In the second half, West Georgia had just two shots, but fought off six second half shots from Union as the Bulldogs tried to claw back into it.

- Junior goalkeeper Jackie Donaldson made two saves on the night, and notched her second shutout of the season.


Beyond the Box Score

- The shutout was the 12th of Donaldson’s career, leaving her three shy of tying Mary Laza’s career mark of 15 shutouts.

- Madison Cobb’s goal was the fourth of the season, which ranks second on the team, and gives her seven in her career.

- Baker’s goal marks her third of the season and her career.

- Cassidi Thomas notched the first and second assists of her career, and is now tied for second on the team in assists.


The Records

- The Wolves improve to 6-8-1 overall and now sit at 4-6 in Gulf South Conference play with three regular season games remaining.

- Union is now 2-11 overall and 1-9 in GSC action.
