PENSACOLA, Fla. – It was not the start to the weekend the West Georgia Wolves soccer team was looking for on Friday night as UWG fell 6-0 to the West Florida Argos in Pensacola, Fla.

West Florida wasted no time in getting out to a quick lead as they broke through and got on the board in the seventh minute with a goal by Isabella Garcia.

The Argos added a trio of goals in the first half, scoring in the 17th, 35th, and 43rd minute to take a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was more offense from West Florida as the Argos got a trio of second half goals. Grayson Sheets opened the second half with a 55th minute goal and then in the 81st minute, Kaljit Atwal scored while Shantell Thompson wrapped up the scoring in the contest with an 89th minute goal.

Jackie Donaldson was busy all night, making seven saves for the Wolves. West Georgia falls to 6-7 on the season and 5-6 in Gulf South Conference play while UWF improves to 9-3-1 overall and 6-2-1 in league play.

The Wolves remain on the road on Sunday afternoon, taking on in-state rival Valdosta State at 1 p.m. at the VSU Soccer Complex.
