CARRROLLTON, Ga. – A West Georgia senior soccer player was honored today as Francessca Ellis was named Third Team All-South Region Team by the United Soccer Coaches Association.
The Dacula native finished her senior year playing 1,232 minutes for the Wolves, playing in 16 games and starting 14 of them. Ellis led all players this year in assists with four and points with 12. The senior also was tied for first in goals scored with four. Ellis also came up big in a road trip to Alabama-Huntsville when she scored the game winner to help put the Wolves over the Chargers in a final of 2-0.
Throughout the senior’s career, Ellis played in 65 matches starting 62 of them. She scored seven total goals in her career, tallying eight assists and giving her 22 career points.
The West Georgia standout was one of 19 GSC players to be named to the All-South Region Teams. Ellis joins Katie Mitchell and Susanna Abundiz who also received this honor last season.
