CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG Women's Cross Country finished second in Friday’s meet at West Georgia, beginning the 2018 season at the UWG Season Opener on the new course on campus in Carrollton.

 

Mackenzie Morse began her sophomore season with in a big way, finishing second in the race with a time of 21:41.74, finishing behind Carla Catala of Clayton State, who took the top spot individually.

 

Following shortly behind her, Alaina Burnside and Alexis Smith took fourth and fifth place, respectively, having times three seconds within each other. Delaney Shaw finished ninth with a time of 24:37.08, and Caitlin Forkin finished with a 24:54.66 time, placing 11th.

 

Overall the Wolves came in second behind Clayton State. The average run time for the 5k for the Wolves was 23:13.82.

 

The Wolves will return in Montevallo, Alabama on September 15th for the Montevallo Invitational.
