CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG Wolves are set to begin the 2019 Cross-Country season this Saturday, September 7 at the Falcon Classic hosted in Montevallo, Alabama. The Falcon classic is the first of six meets scheduled for this fall and is hosted by GSC member Montevallo.

Head Coach Ryan Bailey is extremely excited about this year’s group of runners, as it is a completely new squad from 2018. “The women’s team is completely brand new, we have zero returners from last year’s team coming back,” Bailey said. “We have had a fruitful preseason however as our training has gone very well

Even though there are no returners from 2018, Bailey is optimistic about the potential of the team. Junior Marion Bartitol and senior Ebonee McCroy, the only two upper-classman on the squad, are new to the UWG XC program but are experienced track and field runners who look to make an immediate impact.

Devin Helms (Fortson, Ga), Maya Mahone (Midland, Ga), Deanna Rawlings (Stone Mountain, Ga) and Lauryn Wilson (McDonough, Ga) are the new freshmen who make up the rest of the team.

The Wolves will travel to Chattanooga Friday, September 20 for the team’s second meet of the year.
