CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG Cross Country teams will travel to Chattanooga on Friday to compete in the 2nd annual UTC Twilight Meet. The Wolves are just a few days removed from the Falcon Classic hosted by Montevallo where both squads performed well, as the women’s team averaged nearly two minutes faster than last year at the Montevallo meet.

Head coach Ryan Bailey came away from the meet at Montevallo extremely pleased with his 2019 team, which saw several runners finish with a new personal record. The women’s team yielded three runners with top 60 finishes and placed 10th in the meet overall.

Freshman Devin Helms led the charge for the Wolves as she posted a time of 21:12.70 and placed 44th. Behind Helms was junior Marion Bartilol, who finished 55th with a time of 21:54.55 and three seconds behind Bartilol was freshman Lauryn Wilson in 58th place with a time of 21:57.75.

The women’s team now look ahead to the 2nd annual UTC Twilight meet in Chattanooga, where they will compete against 11 other schools (5 Division I, 6 Division II) in a 4k race.

Coach Ryan Bailey will be hoping for much of the same from his squads this Friday come 6:30pm at Chattanooga.
