CARROLLTON, Ga. – Momentum is on the side of the UWG softball team as the Wolves, winners of their last four, and six of their last seven, head to Cleveland, Mississippi this weekend for a three game set with the Delta State Lady Statesmen.

The Wolves are 14-11 overall and improved to 3-6 in Gulf South Conference play by winning last week’s series over West Alabama. Delta State fell in two-of-three games to Shorter last weekend, and enter the UWG series at 11-9 overall and also at 3-6 in league competition.
Henderson Heats Up
Noone has seen the ball better than sophomore Cassie Henderson as of late. The Calhoun, Georgia native has started each of the last four games and is 1—for-12 with five doubles and five RBI in that span. Henderson is not eligible for the team lead in hitting with just 25 at-bats, but she currently has a .480 average. The Wolves are now 6-1 when Henderson starts at first base.
Moncus Strikes out Career High
Senior lefty Raya Moncus became the third pitcher to record a career-high in strikeouts this season, as she fanned 11 batters in just five innings in a win over Christian Brothers on Wednesday. Moncus earned the win in a 10-1 games, allowing one run on five hits.
Chambers Digs the Long Ball
Madison Chambers ranks third in the GSC and leads UWG with four home runs on the season. Against CBU on Wednesday, Chambers hit two home runs and drove in five runs as UWG swept the Bucs. For the year, Chambers is batting .259 and leads the UWG with 20 RBI; a number that ranks sixth in the league.
