PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The UWG men's golf team posted the lowest round of their tournament on Tuesday at the Gulf South Conference Championships, posting a team score of 300 to finish in seventh place with an aggregate score of 924 after 54 holes at the Mountain View Course at Callaway Gardens.
Dylan Pence finished the tournament with a 75, and came in 18th place as the senior wrapped up his West Georgia career with a 227 total. Pence made three birdies in his final round on Tuesday.
Sophomore Daniel Benson posted the low round of the day for the Wolves as he finished with a 74 on Tuesday. Benson had a 54-hole score of 231, good for a 29th place tie.
A final round 75 was a nice rebound for Samuel Jones as the sophomore struggled in the previous round. Jones carded three birdies on the day to finish in a 34th place tie with a 234 total.
Carson Vaughn closed out his junior year with a 76 on Tuesday. The native of Newnan struggled getting the birdie putts to fall as he finished with 15 pars, two bogeys and a double. Vaughn was tied with Jones with a 234 total in 34th place.
It was a round of 78 for Alford on Tuesday as he finished with a 236 total, putting him in a tie for 39th place.
West Florida captured their fifth straight GSC Golf Championship and their 15th total as they shot a 54-hole team score of 851.
