COLUMBUS, Ga. – The UWG men’s golf team shot their lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a round of 289 in the third round of the AFLAC-Cougar Invitational at Columbus Country Club. The Wolves finished in 15th place with a final 54-hole score of 884.

 

Samuel Jones continued his solid play to start the year, firing a one-under round of 70 on Tuesday. The junior finished in a 14th place tie with his total of 213. Jones made four birdies on the day, with just one bogey and a double-bogey.

 

Junior Daniel Benson finished his first tournament of 2017 with a final round 73 to finish with a three-round total of 221, good for a 49th place finish.

 

Carson Vaughn shot the low round of his tournament in the final round, using a 73 to finish with a 226 total in 68th place.

 

It was a 73 for Valentin Riviere as well, as he finished in 79th place with a 231 total. Ethan Jones final round of 79 put him in 89th place with a 237 total.

 

Tournament host Columbus State took the team title with a -17 total of 835.

 

The Wolves will be back in action next week as they head to Dahlonega, Ga. to compete in the UNG Fall Invitational.
