CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG men’s golf team is back in action this week, competing in the 4th Annual UNG Fall Invitational at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.
The Wolves are no stranger to this course or tournament as they played twice at Achasta last season, including a sixth place finish in the 3rd Annual Fall Invitational.
Three of the five Wolves in this week’s lineup have experience in this tournament as Sam Jones, Carson Vaughn and Valentin Riviere were each in the lineup for this tournament in 2016.
Jones is coming off a solid start to the season after placing 14th at the Cougar Invitational with a three-round total of 213, coming in at even par at the par-71 Country Club of Columbus.
Along with the aforementioned trio, Todd Selders has Dan Benson and James Robillard are in the lineup this week. Robillard, a true freshman makes his debut in a UWG uniform this week, while Benson looks to build on a 49th place finish last week.
The field in Dahlonega includes 13 total teams, with UWG going up against six schools from the state of Georgia including host North Georgia. The Wolves will also go up against Gulf South Conference foes Lee, Montevallo and Shorter.
The Wolves get underway with a 36-hole day and an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday morning.
