CARROLLTON, Ga. – Junior golfer Sam Jones was honored today by the Gulf South Conference, being named First Team All-GSC as voted by the league's coaches.
It's the first time in Jones' career to be named to either All-Conference team, and the first UWG selection since Barrett Waters earned first team honors in 2016. This year, Jones led the West Georgia charge with a 72.32 scoring average, winning one event and placing in the top-10 in three others.
Jones won the UWG home tournament, the Matt Dyas Invitational by two strokes, posting a five-under total with rounds of 70 and 69, and capped off the season with a fifth place finish at the GSC Championships, earning All-Tournament honors.
The junior will look for bigger and better things as a senior in 2018-19 as he looks to lead the Wolves back to the postseason and the NCAA Regionals.
