CARROLLTON, Ga. – Another postseason award rolled in today for UWG senior Sam Jones, who was named Division II PING All-South Region by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Jones led the Wolves this season, averaging 71.51 and made his third trip to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional last week. Jones finished inside the top-five in five tournaments on the year and won two tournaments, including the individual title at the CBU Buccaneer Spring Classic after a round of 67 and then a school record 61.

In total, 20 athletes from the South Region were named All-Region, with Jones joining six others from the Gulf South Conference.

Jones is the first PING All-Region performer for West Georgia since Barrett Waters in 2016. The Division II Ping All-Americans will be announced by the GCAA at a later date.
