CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG men's golf team is set to begin their season and officially kick off the Todd Selders era when they compete in the AFLAC-Cougar Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Columbus County Club in Columbus, Ga.
Todd Selders will be sending four returners onto the links to open the season, and will be breaking in a true freshman who will make his first collegiate start on Monday.
Valentin Riviere, Dan Benson, Sam Jones, and Carson Vaughn each return from last year's squad and will be in the one through four spots this week for Selders.
Ethan Jones, the younger brother of junior Sam Jones, will be making his UWG debut this week in the five spot.
Eighteen teams will converge on Columbus Country Club this week with five Gulf South Conference teams joinging West Georgia in the field: Delta State, Mississippi College, North Alabama, Valdosta State, and Lee. Columbus State serves as the host for the tournament.
Columbus Country Club is a par 71 measureing 6,515 yards.
Live scoring will be available at the link above. The tournament begins Monday morning with a shotgun start. The first day consists of two rounds totaling 36 holes. The final round is set for Tuesday.
