Welcome to the Weekly Wolf and it’s opening week for three of our sports as we get into the groove of the 2017-18 athletic year as footballl, volleyball, and cross country begin their 2017 campaigns this week.
Football gets the 2017 athletic year underway as the Wolves host Fort Valley State on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in University Stadium. Advance tickets are available at the above link for $18. Tickets will be $25 at the gate on gameday. Parking and tailgating will open at 4 p.m. at the Athletic Complex. The Hill Student Tailgate Zone will open up at 5 p.m. and feature free food and drink from Pita Pit and Coca-Cola.
The first Wolf Walk of the year will take place Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Wolf Plaza as we welcome the Wolves to the stadium prior to kickoff. The Junior Wolves Fun Den opens at 5 p.m. where children will be treated to fun and games on the lawn. There is a one time charge of $10 to join the Junior Wolves Club.
Fans parking in Lot B are encouraged to enter the complex via the Lovvorn Road entrance.
Volleyball begins their season competing at the Eckerd Ivitational. The Wolves will play four games over the weekend with a match against the Eckerd College Tritons at 12:30 p.m. and Notre Dame College at 5:30 p.m. on Friday September 1. On Saturday, the Wolves will take on St. Edwards at 10 a.m. and Kentucky Weselyan at 5:30 p.m.
New head coach Ryan Bailey and the cross country teams will compete in their first meet on Friday at Jacksonville State.
