OAKWOOD, Ga. – Thomas Adkins finished in eighth place as the sophomore led the Wolves to a fourth place finish at the 8K UNG Invitational on Saturday in Oakwood, Ga.

 

Adkins clinched his first top-10 finish of the season with a time of 27:58 in the 8K, placing eighth for the Wolves.

 

Jacob Giammarco was the next UWG runner across the finish as the Wolves’ sophomore finished in 21st place with a time of 29:25. Just 50 seconds behind Giammarco was Walt Douglas who placed 25th with a time of 29:50.

 

Next across the line was a pair of freshman separated by just six second. Parks Turner finished in 30th place with a 31:03 time while Jonah Negusse placed 31st, finishing the race with a time of 31:09.

 

Emory placed all five of their runners in the top-10 to claim the team title.

 

West Georgia will now take a weekend off before competing at Jacksonville State’s meet on September 30 in Oxford, Ala.
