CARROLLTON, Ga. – It was a sixth place finish for the UWG men’s cross country team at the JSU Foothills Invitational in Oxford Lakes, Ala. in the 8K race hosted by Jacksonville State.

 

Thomas Adkins led the way for West Georgia as he was UWG’s first runner to cross the finish line. The sophomore had a final time of 27:21.1 as he finished in 48th place.

 

Isaac Hernandez was in 65th place as the true freshman finished with a time of 27:49.0. Jacob Giammarco was next to finish for UWG as his time of 28:44.0 put him in 97th place.

 

In 108th place was Walt Douglas who finished with a time of 29:00.6 in the 8K. Parks Turner and Jonah Negusse finished with times of 30:50.8 and 31:21.0 for finishes of 160th and 163rd respectively.

 

Emory finished first in the white division in Saturday’s race. UWG was the second GSC school on the leaderboard as Valdosta State finished fifth. The Wolves finished ahead of Shorter and Montevallo.

 

The Wolves will now look forward to their next meet as they are set to run at Berry College on October 14.
