DANVILLE, Al. – The men’s cross country team will be competing in the GSC Men’s Cross Country Championships this Saturday October 21, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Oakville Indian Mounds course. The Championships are being held at Oakville Indian Mounds for the second time in the past three years.


The Wolves are coming off a good regular season, and are looking at making some noise at the GSC Championships. The Wolves will be lead by runners, Thomas Adkins and Isaac Hernandez. Adkins and Hernandez have been the Wolves leading runners throughout the season, finishing first and second in multiple races.


West Georgia will be racing seven men’s runners at the GSC Championships. The other five runners will be Walt Douglas, Jacob Giammarco, Sosteen Kirwa, Jonah Negusse, and Parks Turner. Sosteen Kirwa is the only senior on the team. Kirwa is looking to close out his time here at West Georgia with a strong performance.


Head Coach Ryan Bailey said going into the GSC Cross Country Championships, “We are excited to see how the men will do this weekend. It’s a good course for us and we have had a good couple of weeks training leading up to this race.”


The men’s race will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Oakville Indian Mounds course. The award ceremony will take place around 11:15 a.m.
