CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG men’s XC team is on fire to start the season, and are looking to continue the trend this weekend at the UWG invitational. After finishing sixth in the season-opener at Montevallo, the team finished second overall at the UTC Meet in Chattanooga two weeks ago.

The Wolves had two runners place in the top 25 as Michael Fabiano finished with a time of 22:37.11, while Solomen Komen finished with a time of 21:33.60, which was good for second. That gives Komen his second top-five finish so far this season.

Those times, as well as the rest of the team’s impressive performance, has helped land the Wolves with the tenth overall ranking in this week’s South Region poll, which makes for head coach Ryan Bailey’s first top ten ranking at West Georgia.

This year’s team is glistening with potential, as runners are out-performing themselves at each Meet. Bailey and the team hope to ride that momentum for the rest of the season and climb even higher in the South Region rankings.

The Wolves are looking forward to their first home meet this weekend and are looking to continue their strong start to the season, as the university is primed to host their annual UWG Invitational this weekend.
