CARROLLTON, Ga. - UWG junior Solomon Komen continued his outstanding junior season on Saturday morning in Montevallo, Alabama, finishing sixth in the 2019 Gulf South Conference Championships and earning First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors.

The honor was the second First Team nod for Komen in as many years, as the junior finished 10th as a sophomore in 2018 to earn First Team honors. Saturday was the second time on the course in Montevallo for the Wolves, with Komen finishing 10th at the Montevallo Invitational 8K to open the season. Freshman Michael Fabiano was the only other UWG runner to crack the top-50 in the meet, as the Wolves finished 10th in the overall standings.

Komen finished in the top-10 in all five events where he has competed this season, including wins at the UWG Invitational and at the Georgia College Invitational. He will compete next in the NCAA Regionals in Lakeland, Florida on November 9.
