CARROLLTON, Ga. - The West Georgia Wolves, decimated by injuries, fell by a 9-0 score in Gulf South Conference tennis on Friday afternoon at Sunset Hills Country Club.

Head coach Michael Coleman's Wolves put up a fight despite being down two players on the day, as the Wolves lost No. 1 doubles 8-2, followed by an 8-0 loss in No. 2 doubles. The Wolves were forced to default the No. 3 doubles flight with the injuries on the team, falling behind 3-0 before singles play began.

The Wolves scored well in singles play, with no player losing in straight sets on the afternoon, but West Georgia played sometimes two flights higher in spots, giving a decided advantage to the Lions. Gabby Chanthaphaeng came close in her first game, losing 6-4, then 6-0 in the second. Bailey McCammon had the same score in her first game, then lost the second 6-2 in No. 5 singles.

Saturday's match with Georgia Southwestern has been cancelled, and the Wolves will play next Thursday at 1 p.m. in Rome, Ga. against the Shorter Hawks in the final match before spring break.
