CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia Wolves volleyball team fell 3-0 on the road at West Alabama on Saturday afternoon in Livingston, Ala.

 

The Tigers took the opening set of the match, fueled by a 6-0 run to erase an early deficit and make it a 16-11 after the Wolves got out in front early. West Georgia would get back within one point, but the Tigers ground out a 25-20 victory to take the early advantage in the match. Anjelina Webb led UWG offensively in the opening set with four kills.

 

West Alabama got up 7-2 early in the second set and did not look back as they took the second set 25-15 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

 

In the third set, the Wolves and Tigers came out point for point until a 5-0 Tiger run made it a 13-8 lead. UWA then outscored the Wolves 12-8 on their way to a 25-16 victory in the third set to complete the sweep.

 

Webb finished the contest with 12 kills while McKenna Wharton added five. Webb also led defensively with 11 digs.

 

The Wolves host Georgia College on Tuesday night in The Coliseum. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
