CARROLLTON, Ga. - The wait is over for new volleyball head coach Jon Moseley, as his 2018 West Georgia squad reports on Saturday to begin the 2018-19 athletic year.

Moseley was announced as the head coach at West Georgia on December 8, 2017, and comes to Carrollton following 12 years as the head coach at Shorter University in Rome, Ga., where he amassed a record of 85-25 against Gulf South Conference competition over the past six seasons. Soon after his arrival on campus, he and his assistant coach, Anna Graham, went to work recruiting for the 2018 season.

The result of that search was eight recruits to add to a bevy of returners for the upcoming season, which begins earlier than any other team on campus. Among those newcomers are a pair of transfers in libero Anna Metzler (Dalton State) and outside hitter Hannah Fleck (Shorter). One player who missed the 2017 season is outside hitter Katie Hanson, who was a solid offensive leader for the Wolves in 2015 and 2016. Hanson will return to the court in 2018 along with the Wolves' leader in kills from 2017, Anjelina Webb.

The Moseley era officially begins on Friday, August 24 with the Wolves head to Huntsville, Ala. for the UAH Classic. West Georgia will take on Lemoyne-Owen at 1 p.m. in that matchup, followed by an evening non-conference battle with Alabama Huntsville at 7 p.m. The Wolves' home opener will be on September 11, taking on Lee at 6 p.m. at The Coliseum.
