CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia Wolves fell on Senior Night at The Coliseum on Tuesday, losing 3-0 to the West Alabama Tigers in Gulf South Conference volleyball action.
West Georgia jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in the opening set, but West Alabama came right back to tie the set at 4-4, then jumped out to a 13-9 advantage. The Wolves pulled to as close as two points from the Tigers twice over the remainder of the set, but UWA closed out the set with a 25-19 victory.
In the second set, the Wolves and Tigers were neck-and-neck for the bulk of the set, but with UWG trailing 17-15, West Alabama went on a 8-4 run to finish off the second set and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the final set, the Wolves led for the bulk of the frame, holding a 21-18 advantage early in the set. But West Alabama came back once again, reeling off seven straight points to take the match with a 25-21 victory.
