Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves baseball team looks to break a four game losing streak as they head to Huntsville, AL to take on the Alabama Huntsville Chargers in a three-game Gulf South Conference series.

Last season the Wolves and Chargers played a three game series at Cole Field with UAH taking two out of three games from the Wolves. That was one of only four GSC series in which the Wolves did not win at least two games.

The Chargers come into the weekend with a 5-7 overall record, posting a 1-2 record in the GSC. They lost two out of three games to Lee to begin conference play, but are currently on a three game win streak after beating Miles in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday.

Alabama Huntsville as a team is hitting .279 as a team in 2017 with 63 runs scored on 104 hits. They have 16 doubles, four triples, and five homeruns combined. They have stolen ten bases as a team, but have committed 24 errors overall.

Outfielder Ben Rhodes leads UAH with a .410 batting average. He has eleven runs scored and nine RBI. He also leads the Chargers in homeruns with two. Nolan Ramsey has also been steady for UAH, hitting .308 with a homerun and seven runs batted in.

West Georgia is hitting .275 as a team in 2017, with Junior Ben Utley leading the way with a .422 average. Utley has a team leading 19 hits, including four doubles. Sophomore Cade Marlowe is hitting .297 with a team leading nine runs scored, 13 RBI, and two homeruns.

The Wolves pitching staff has combined for a 5.40 ERA. Greyson Mcleod is 1-1 in three starts for the Wolves. He has a 3.31 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched on the season. He also has 14 strikeouts with only four walks allowed.
