Carrollton, GA - As the West Georgia Wolves prepare for another road Gulf South Conference series this coming weekend they play host to a nonconference midweek matchup against the Young Harris Mountain Lions on Wednesday at Cole Field.

West Georgia and Young Harris met twice during the 2016 season. The Wolves won both meetings, defeating the Mountain Lions 10-1 at home and then 18-7 in Young Harris, GA.

The Wolves hope to gain some momentum as they enter a pivotal weekend in GSC play at Shorter. UWG currently sits at 10-18 overall on the year with a 4-14 record in conference.

Young Harris enters Tuesday with an overall record of 10-17 and a 4-8 record in the Peach Belt Conference. The Mountain Lions are set to host Truett-McConnel in a nonconference game before traveling to Carrollton on Wednesday.

West Georgia as a team is hitting .288 on the year. They have scored 167 runs on 278 hits through their first 28 games. Ben Utley leads the Wolves with a .351 batting average. He has a team high 23 runs scored and 25 RBI. Price Peters is hitting .311 on the year with a team high five homeruns.

The Mountain Lions enter the game with a .286 team average. They have scored 171 runs on 273 hits, adding 53 doubles and 35 homeruns. Tyler Washington is hitting .392 for YHC with 16 RBI and 17 runs scored. Zach Beggs leads the Mountain Lions with nine longballs and 22 RBI. He also has 27 runs scored.

The Wolves and Mountains Lions have both had their fair share of struggles on the mound this season as each have a team ERA above 5.00. Dalton Reagin leads the UWG staff with a 4.33 ERA in 27.0 inning pitched. He has 25 strikeouts and only six walks. Michael Livingston leads Young Harris at 4-2 with a 3.25 ERA.
