Carrollton, GA - After a week of wild weather the West Georgia baseball team gets back in action this weekend as they welcome the Christian Brothers Buccaneers to Carrollton for a three-game Gulf South Conference series.

The Buccaneers enter the weekend with a 9-26 overall record with a 4-17 record in the Gulf South Conference. West Georgia sits at 12-20 overall and 5-16 in the GSC. CBU was most recently swept by Gulf South foe Delta State.

The Buccaneers have a team batting average of .241 so far in 2017. They have scored 171 runs on 267 hits, including 40 doubles and 16 homeruns. Taylor King is batting .330 for CBU. He leads the team with 10 doubles, 26 RBI, and 21 runs scored. He is also tied for the lead with five longballs.

West Georgia is hitting .291 on the season with 210 runs scored on 324 hits. They have 47 doubles, five triples, and 19 homeruns. Ben Utley continues to anchor the Wolves lineup with a .341 batting average. He has eight doubles, four homeruns, and 30 RBI. Bradley Felkel has been hot of late, batting .450 with two homeruns and seven RBI over the past five games.

The Bucs have struggled on the mound thus far, giving up 293 runs in 294.0 innings pitched. That gives them a team ERA of 7.29. Gil Erwin is 3-5 with a 5.17 ERA for CBU. He has 28 strikeouts in 55.2 innings pitched.

West Georgia has a team ERA of 5.90 this season. Dalton Reagin has a 4.76 ERA for the Wolves in 34.0 innings pitched. He also has 29 strikeouts with only 11 walks. Freshman Ryan Parker is 1-1 with a 4.83 ERA in 41.0 innings pitched. He has 25 strikeouts with only eight walks.
