CARROLLTON, Ga. - Postseason honors continued Friday for a pair of UWG Wolves baseball standouts. Catcher Price Peters and outfielder Cade Marlowe were selected as second team members of the 2018 D2CCA All-South Region Baseball Team. Both have previously been named All-Gulf South Conference First Team selections.
Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association sponsors the all-region team. Balloting is conducted is conducted by sports information directors from throughout the region.
Peters’ honor is his second in as many days. The senior from LaGrange was named Thursday as a second team member of the National College Baseball Writers Association All-South Region Team. For the season he batted an impressive .335 with a team high eight home runs and 51 runs batted in.
Marlowe was the Wolves’ batting champion for 2018, posting an average of .366. He also led UWG in total bases with 98, and in stolen bases with 24 thefts on the season.
Friday’s honors cap an award filled week for both Peters and Marlowe. Both were honored Tuesday at UWG’s annual Westpy Award celebration. Peters was named the Wolves’ Most Valuable Player for 2018, while Marlowe was honored as both the team Gold Glove Award winner, and he was named the athletic program’s Mister Wolf for his athletic, academic, and community service excellence.
