CARROLLTON, Ga. - Artemis Kadkhodaian, a four-year standout at second base and shortstop for the Wolves from 2014-2017, is making waves in Minor League Baseball this summer, earning his way on the Frontier League All-Star Team while playing for the Gateway Grizzlies in Sauget, Illinois.
The Frontier League this year announced a new format for the 2018 All-Star Game, which takes place on Wednesday July 11 at CarShield Field in O’Fallon, Missouri. The game will pit the Rookies vs. the Experienced players, with the Rookies team made up of players in their first or second year of professional baseball.
Kadkhodaian, in his second year as a professional after playing last season in the Los Angeles Angels' organization, will start for the Rookies next week. His .303 batting average this season leads qualified Grizzlies batters. Kadkhodaian has four home runs, nine doubles and 17 RBIs through the first 33 games of the season with Gateway.
Kadkhodaian was a starter at second base and shortstop for his entire four-year career at West Georgia, then signed with the Angels after the conclusion of the 2017 season.
