CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of West Georgia baseball program will kick off the 2019 season with the 3rd Annual Baseball Leadoff Dinner, with featured speaker Charlie Culberson of the Atlanta Braves joining the Wolves for the evening of January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in The Coliseum on the UWG campus.

Head coach Skip Fite began the leadoff dinner to open the 2017 season for the Wolves, and it was a resounding success for the program. Last year, the event featured former Atlanta Braves star Sid Bream as the featured speaker, and this year, the baseball program is proud to welcome Culberson as the featured speaker.

"This is such a fantastic way for us to be able to allow our players to meet the people in the stands in a personal way," Fite said. "We are excited about the opportunity to hear Charlie speak to our players and look forward to the time we will have to spend with people who are close to the program before the season gets underway."

Seats for the 2019 UWG Baseball Leadoff Dinner can be purchased through the athletic department by contacting the main office at 678-839-6533. The $50 for the seat includes the meal and the chance to hear Culberson speak after his first season in Atlanta, helping lead the Braves back to the playoffs. For more information on the dinner, contact Skip Fite at sfite@westga.edu, or contact assistant coach Jeff Smith at jwsmith@westga.edu.
