Carrollton, GA – A pair of mainstays of the 2019 West Georgia Wolves baseball team have added to their postseason honors.

Outfielder Cade Marlowe and first baseman Logan Taylor were named Wednesday to the D2CCA All-Region Baseball Team. Marlowe, a senior from Tifton, was chosen to the all-region first team. Taylor, a senior from Roanoke, Ala., was a second team all-region selection.

The D2CCA All-Region Team is chosen in a vote of sports information directors from schools in the region. The South Region includes the Gulf South (GSC) Conference, Sunshine State Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Marlowe, who was also an All-GSC First Team selection, ended his senior season with a batting average of .389. He led the conference in stolen bases with 46, a new single season record at UWG. Marlowe ended his career as the school’s all-time stolen base record holder, and finished in the top of five of most major offensive categories in the West Georgia record book.

Taylor was an All-GSC Second Team choice this season. He led West Georgia in batting average with a mark of .392, and runs batted in with 62. His OPS (on-base plus slugging) was team high 1.121, and he was flawless in the field with no errors on 430 total chances.

With his selection to the all-region first team, Marlowe now advances to the D2CCA All-America ballot. He will be joined there by first team honorees from the other seven regions that make up NCAA Division II. The D2CCA All-America Team will be announced on May 31st.
