West Georgia enters Thursday's game after a pair of losses on the road last weekend that dropped the Wolves to 12-9 overall on the year and 7-6 in Gulf South Conference play. The Wolves are currently eighth in the GSC standings, one game behind Lee and two games ahead of Montevallo. Valdosta State comes into the game with a 16-5 overall record on the year and a 9-4 record in Gulf South Conference action.
Last Time Out
West Georgia is looking to right the ship after falling in four out of the last five games since last playing Valdosta State. The Wolves were swept on the road last weekend, losing 99-79 to Union and then 85-77 to Christian Brothers. The Blazers have won three of their last four games, including a 75-70 home victory against the Montevallo Falcons this past weekend.
Smith vs. Justice, Part 2
Two of the most prolific scorers in the Gulf South Conference will meet head-to-head for the second time in two weeks, as UWG's Marquill Smith matches up against VSU's Beau Justice. The last time the two met, Smith hit 6-of-9 from three-point range en route to a 32-point night while Justice put up 15 on 3-of-7 from long range. The Wolves took that battle by a thin thread, winning 87-86 in Valdosta.
