CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG Wolves give their fans a first look at an almost totally new squad for the 2017-18 season. Coach Michael Cooney has added many talented newcomers on hand as official practice began October 15 for the upcoming season.

Here we offer fans a chance to Meet The Wolves for the upcoming season .

A Division I transfer returns home as Jack Shaughnessy comes to UWG following three seasons in the program at the University of Seattle. A former prep star at Etowah High School, Shaughnessy spent a redshirt season and then played two years for coach Cameron Dollar’s Redhawks. He has played in 55 games the past two years at Seattle, averaging just over two points per game while playing 11 minutes per game. As a prep senior at Etowah he averaged better 22 points, five rebounds and five assists per game. He earned all-region honors and was named Area Player of the Year by the Cherokee Tribune.

“We’re very excited to have Jack in our program,” said Cooney. He is a leader, and brings energy and toughness to our team. He shoots the ball well, he’s a very good playmaker, and works hard on both ends of the floor.”

Fans get their first look at the 2017-18 Wolves in a November 2 exhibition as Carver visits The Coliseum. The new season officially begins November 11 as the Wolves face Miles in the GSC-SIAC Classic in Cleveland, Tenn.
