CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG Women’s Basketball program and head coach Scott Groninger have added another piece to the 2018 recruiting class as the Wolves signed Edley Drawhorn out of Indian River State College.
Drawhorn, originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia comes to UWG after a season at Indian River that saw the 5-9 combo player score 14.5 points per contest in 26 games. She shot 45.7 percent from the field, and also pulled down 8.3 rebounds per game.
In the classroom, Drawhorn is a biology major, and received the Student-Athlete Top 10 Percent Award in her first semester at IRSC, earning a 3.81 GPA.
“Edley is a solid player and also a solid student who will bring a lot to the court for us,” said head coach Scott Groninger. “We are looking forward to seeing how she can help us this season, and continue to develop as a basketball player,” added Groninger.
Prior to Indian River, Drawhorn spent her freshman season at Lenoir-Rhyne where she saw action in just four games. As a high-school student-athlete, Drawhorn helped Princess Anne High School to three state championships.
Drawhorn joins Ashley Lee, Zaria Bankston and Mariah Holder in the 2018 class. The Wolves report to campus for classes in August with official practice starting in October.
