CARROLLTON, Ga. – After Tuesday night’s upset win over West Florida, the seventh-seeded West Georgia Wolves women’s basketball team is set for a Gulf South Conference Semifinal matchup with third-seeded Lee on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. EST at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University.

West Georgia knocked off the number two seed in the tournament on Super Tuesday, taking down West Florida 48-45 to set up a third meeting this season with Lee.

The Flames and Wolves split the regular season series with each team winning on their home floor as UWG won the most recent matchup with a 74-69 victory at The Coliseum on February 23. Saturday will mark the fourth appearance in the GSC Semifinals in the last six years, and it’s the fourth straight for the Flames. The Wolves and Flames are both 0-3 in GSC Semifinal games.

Aysha Harris has led the UWG offense in scoring in six straight games including 11 points on Tuesday as she tied Jessica Brown for the team-high. Brown had 10 rebounds to go with her 11 points to record her third career double-double and second of the season.

For the Flames, it’s the duo of Abby Bertram and Haley Schubert that paces the offense. Bertram is Lee’s leading scorer at 14/4 points per game and has hit 70 three-pointers this season, shooting over 40 percent from behind the arc. Schubert, who was named as the GSC’s Freshman of the Year on Tuesday, scores 11.4 per game. The duo combined for 35 in Lee’s Super Tuesday win over UAH.
