CARROLLTON, Ga. –

 Coaches’ Luncheon

This is going to be a pretty busy week here in the City of Dreams, beginning on Wednesday with what will now be the first Coaches’ Luncheon of the 2017 fall season. The Coaches’ Luncheon is a way for West Georgia fans to interact with our coaches and athletic department staff members. You can begin arriving at 11:30 on Wednesday to American Pie Pizzeria on Maple Street, and the cost for the buffet there is 6.99 and includes a drink. Our programming will start around the 12:15-12:20 timeframe and will be our coaches giving a short rundown of how things are going so in their seasons, and you can hear about our winter and spring sports as well.

Big Blue Friday

The first Big Blue Friday of the year is coming up this Friday, as we get ready for a huge weekend of action. You can go to uwgsports.com and find the listing of Carrollton area partners who are participating. If you have never done Big Blue Friday, it is really simple just wear your West Georgia blue, and visit one of those establishments. In the past, partners like Chick-Fil-A have, in turn, given our fans a 20-oz drink with a purchase. So make sure to go to uwgsports.com, find out the sponsor list, don the blue and head out for Big Blue Friday.

At Home this week ….

Soccer is busy this week, as head coach Stacey Balaam and her squad are at home for three matches. The Wolves take on Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday at 5 p.m., followed by a huge battle with Mississippi College on Friday also at 5 pm. On Sunday, another big GSC battle looms as Delta State comes to town at 1:00 p.m.

The Battle for the Peach Basket

Wolves football vs. Valdosta State at 2 pm. Tickets are $25 at the gate, but fans who are able to purchase tickets at the UWG Athletics Online Ticket Portal by Thursday at 5 p.m. will receive a $7 discount and may pick up your ticket at the Will Call window on gameday or the "print-at-home" feature. Fans may continue to enjoy the "print-at-home" feature until 11:30 a.m. on gameday and still receive the $7 discount.

Special Guests this Week

This is Hall-of-Fame Saturday, as we will induct five new members into the UWG Athletics Hall of Fame. Kim Weaver from softball, Stuart Drew from baseball, Jared Guberman from football, Don Burkette from Track and Field and Bob White in a special category. The induction will happen at halftime, so make sure you are there to be a part of this special day.

Tailgating Saturday

Game management officials have determined a 10 a.m. start time for the UWG Athletics Complex Gates to open. For any group of 25 or more that is not an official university department or registered student organization, the contact to secure a tailgating spot is Seth Cowart (scowart@westga.edu) and Carolyn Maddox (cmaddox@westga.edu) in Auxiliary Services. This includes any tailgate that will be utilizing a grill with a trailer hookup (on a single axle). Seth and Carolyn can get you a spot in Tailgate Park, just outside of University Stadium.

Parking for Saturday's Game

Fans who are either Lot B pass holders or wish to park in the Gravel Lot, please make sure to enter the UWG Athletics Complex via the Lovvorn Road entrance. For fans who wish to park on the future baseball field, or Lots C or D, please access the complex via Stadium Drive coming from campus. Parking for the game is $5 for every lot except Lot B. Fans who wish to purchase a spot in Lot B may do so through the UWG Athletics Online Ticket Portal

Junior Wolves Fun Den

This week, the Junior Wolves Fun Den will be going full speed ahead. Our youngest fans can enjoy a refreshment snack, the inflatables, meet the cheerleaders and play with Wolfie at this week's Fun Den. The cost for a Junior Wolves membership is $10, and includes access to the Junior Wolves Fun Den, a t-shirt, and free admission to every West Georgia Athletic event. Fans must be between the ages of 2-12, with parents encouraged to print out and return the Junior Wolves application at the Fun Den on Saturday.

The Hill/DeanTown This Week

This week on The Hill, sponsored by Academy Sports and Outdoors, food and drink will be provided by American Pie Pizzeria. The WOLF Sports will be there for their pregame show, and student organizations are encouraged to bring your tailgate on Friday between 2-4 p.m. during Deantown. That's the time when you can stake your claim to the spot that is perfect for your student group for this week's tailgate. Festivities on The Hill begin at noon and will close at 1:45 p.m. on gameday

Wolf Walk

One of the most anticipated events of each home game has become the Wolf Walk, as West Georgia fans are encouraged to join The Sound that Lights the South and the UWG cheerleaders at Wolf Plaza to welcome the team to University Stadium. The Wolf Walk will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

At the Gates

Just after the conclusion of the Wolf Walk, the gates to University Stadium will be open for fans to head on in and get ready for kickoff. There is a security screening process to insure a safe environment in University Stadium, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get through the gates and to your seats in time for the pregame show, which begins approximately 15 minutes prior to kickoff. No outside food or drink is allowed inside University Stadium gates, so make sure to leave those items with your vehicle. Also, please make sure to take a look at the signs posted around the UWG Athletcs Complex property listing all items that are prohibited within the stadium gate.
