CARROLLTON, Ga. - Volleyball and Soccer play at home for the second straight weekend. Both teams will host West Alabama on Friday. Saturday Volleyball plays Mississippi College and Sunday Soccer plays UAH in Carrollton.


The Wolves go into the week 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in GSC play after a win over Florida Tech on Saturday. This weekend the Wolves head to Rome to play the Shorter Hawks, another GSC team. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Barron Stadium.

West Georgia football continues a strong season, going 4-0 with a big win over Florida Tech this past weekend. The Wolves took the lead in the fourth quarter and maintained it to seal their fourth win of the season and the first GSC win of the year. Malik Henry and Korie Rogers were both stand outs for the Wolves during the game. Rogers had nine tackles for the day, and Henry stood out in the passing game with 74 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The Wolves return to the field on Saturday against Shorter in Rome with a 1 p.m. kickoff.


After their first home games the Wolves ended the week 1-1 at home. The Wolves are now 3-3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Gulf South Conference.

Soccer faced a tough loss against #4 West Florida on Friday for their 2018 home opener. The Wolves showed a valiant effort against a strong West Florida team, losing 1-0. The Wolves bounced back on Saturday against Spring Hill, scoring an astounding 7 goals, making it the fifth most goals ever scored by West Georgia soccer.

West Georgia soccer will have two upcoming matches this weekend starting on Friday at 5 p.m. against West Alabama. On Sunday, the Wolves return to University Field at 1 p.m. to face UAH.


West Georgia Volleyball ends their weekend on the road 1-1. Overall, the Wolves are 7-5 and 2-3 in GSC play. Wolves Volleyball returns this weekend for two home matches beginning with West Alabama on Friday and Mississippi College on Saturday.

The Wolves opened this past weekend with #15 West Florida. Wolves went 0-3 against West Florida, but came back on Saturday with a strong performance. Volleyball stepped onto AUM’s court Saturday afternoon eager for a victory. They went 3-0 on the day against AUM, securing their second victory in GSC play.

The Wolves return to The Coliseum this weekend to face West Alabama in The Coliseum at 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the Wolves will face Mississippi College at 2 p.m.

Cross Country

After a week off, Wolves Men’s and Women’s Cross Country will return to the trails for the UNG Invitational on Saturday in Gainesville, Georgia.

The Wolves have had time to practice and recover from their previous race. The women ended placing 20th overall in the Montevallo Invitational. Alaina Burnside led the Women’s team, placing 98th in the race. The Men’s team ran and placed 14th in the Montevallo Invitational with Solomon Komen being the top runner for the Wolves placing 21st.

The Wolves travel to Gainesville to race at The UNG Invitational on Saturday. Both Men’s and Women’s teams are set to compete in Gainesville.
