CARROLLTON, Ga. – UWG Athletics will be in for another busy weekend in Carrollton and with that, the UWG Athletics Department is set for another Big Blue Friday tomorrow, September 27th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at American Pie Pizzeria.

 

Big Blue Friday is a chance every weekend for those in the community and around campus to come together to prepare for the athletic events that will be on campus all weekend long.

 

The action starts on Friday night as the West Georgia Women’s Soccer team will take on Auburn-Montgomery at University Field with kickoff being at 5 p.m. This will be the conference opener for the Wolves as they have finished up their non-conference 2-2-1.

 

The West Georgia Wolves cross country teams will host their annual home meet in Carrollton, on campus at the observatory fields and surrounding areas. The women’s 5K is set for a 5:30 p.m. start with the men’s 8K set for a 6 p.m. start.

 

The weekend concludes with another home soccer game on Sunday, September 29th, where the Wolves host Montevallo at University Field for another Gulf South Conference matchup. Sunday will also be Alumni Appreciation Day for UWG soccer. Former UWG soccer players are invited to join us for the game, pizza and drinks, and a halftime recognition.

 

Both, the football and volleyball teams will be on the road this weekend. Volleyball will be going to rival Valdosta State for an important early season matchup with the Blazers in Gulf South Conference play, first serve will be at 12 p.m.

 

The Wolves football team looks to rebound when they go to take on the Florida Tech Panthers this weekend. The game will be in Melbourne, Florida with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The games can be seen on stream and also live stats will be available on the website.
